Youth Recreational Programs (6 – 12 years)
Beginner YouthGYM

Age: 6 – 10 years
Class Length: 60 mins
Class Focus: Artistic Gymnastics

The Participation programs are beginner and introductory classes to artistic gymnastics. The program focuses on skill development, co-ordination, body awareness, strength, cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility. Participants train in accordance with the Burlington Gymnastics Club curriculum based on their individual skill set and progression.

 

YouthGYM 1.5 Hour

Age: 6 – 10 years
Class Length: 90 mins
Class Focus: Artistic Gymnastics

The Achievement programs are for boys and girls with some beginner gymnastics skills. The program focuses on skill development, co-ordination, body awareness, strength, cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility. Participants train in accordance with the Burlington Gymnastics Club curriculum based on their individual skill set and progression.

 

Rhythmic Program

Age: 6 – 12 years
Class Length: 90 mins
Class Focus: Rhythmic Gymnastics
Requirements: No rhythmic gymnastics experience required

Recreational rhythmic gymnastics incorporates stretching, ballet, dance and rhythmic gymnastics. The use of rhythmic gymnastics apparatus – ropes, hoops, balls, ribbons and colourful scarves in harmony with music are incorporated into each class.

 

YouthGYM Plus

Age: 10 – 13 years
Class Length: 120 mins
Class Focus: Artistic Gymnastics
Requirements: Previous Achievement or beginner gymnastics experience required

A two hour program for athletes 10 – 13 years old with some experience with gymnastics skills. The program focuses on skill development, co-ordination, body awareness, strength, cardiovascular conditioning and flexibility.

 

Tumbling

Age: 6 – 12 years
Class Length: 90 mins
Class Focus: Artistic Gymnastics

Tumbling classes focus on strength, flexibility, and the proper techniques and progressions of tumbling skills. Boys and Girls of all experience levels are welcome. This class is perfect for participants want to improve their tumbling for gymnastics, dance or cheerleading. Participants train in accordance with the Tumbling curriculum based on their individual skill set and progression.

 

Trampoline

Age: 6 – 10 years
Class Length: 60 minutes
Class Focus: Trampoline Gymnastics
Requirements: No gymnastics experience required

Trampoline teaches children basic skills on the trampoline, tumble trak or tumble strip and pit. Progressive skills are taught through circuits and other activities to assist in improving strength and co-ordination.

 

Trampoline PLUS

Age: 10+ years
Class Length: 90 minutes
Class Focus: Trampoline Gymnastics
Requirements: Previous Trampoline or beginner gymnastics experience

Trampoline PLUS teaches children more advanced skills on the trampoline, tumble trak or tumble strip and pit. Progressive skills are taught through circuits and other activities to assist in improving strength and co-ordination
